Support FAQ

Quick answers

For a question specific to your account or device, email the official support address above.

Where can I download Higxel?

Download Higxel for Android from Google Play.

Can I add expenses without scanning a receipt?

Yes. Add an expense manually when there is no receipt to scan. Receipt scanning is an optional shortcut, not a requirement.

Can I correct a scanned receipt?

Yes. Higxel shows extracted receipt details for review before saving, and saved expenses remain editable in History.

Where can I read the privacy information?

Read the Higxel Privacy Policy for information about account data, receipt processing, optional notification suggestions, Google Sheets sync, and your controls.

What should I include in a support email?

Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and your device or app version when available. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or unrelated sensitive information.

Data import · Next app release

Moving data from another app

Export a CSV, XLSX, or JSON file from your current app, then open Settings → Sync & Integrations → Import Data. Keep the original file as a backup, start with a small sample, and check every suggested match before importing.

Higxel reads the full file on your device. For column matching, only the first five non-empty rows and, when needed, unmatched category names are securely sent to Higxel and OpenAI; the full file is not uploaded. After you confirm the import, saved records use normal Higxel cloud sync.

How do I import a file?
  1. Export a CSV, XLSX, or JSON file from your other app.
  2. Choose it in Import Data. Higxel suggests the data type, header, and column matches. Select another sheet or data set when needed.
  3. Check every suggested column match. For transactions, check account names and the fallback account.
  4. Review the record counts and warnings, then tap Import data. Check the completion counts and your saved records afterward.

You can repeat the process for another sheet. The review is a summary, not a row-by-row preview.

Which fields are needed?

Expenses and income need a title, amount, and date. Accounts need a name, supported type, and balance; credit cards also need a credit limit. Categories need a category name. Mixed transactions also need a field that clearly identifies income or expense.

Use clear dates such as 2026-08-26. Import does not convert currencies; check that amounts use the currency you track in Higxel.

How are accounts and balances handled?

Transaction account names are matched to existing Higxel accounts, ignoring letter case and extra spaces. Missing, unmatched, or unsuitable accounts use the fallback you select. Unknown account names do not create accounts automatically.

Import or create the needed accounts first. Expenses and recorded income affect their balances. If your starting balance already includes those transactions, check and correct the current balance after importing to avoid counting them twice.

What is skipped or not supported?

Receipt images, attachments, transfer records, and other app-specific settings are not imported. Unsupported or invalid rows may be skipped. A valid file extension does not guarantee a compatible export layout.

Transactions with the same title, amount, date, and account are treated as duplicates. Account and category names already present are not created again. This can also skip a genuinely separate purchase with identical details, so check the result.

How is dated income handled?

Income from a previous month becomes recorded history. Earlier dates in the current month are informational and do not increase totals or account balances. Today’s income is recorded; future income is scheduled.

Older recurring income is imported as history only. A recurring schedule can be created from a current-month or future income row when its recurring field is enabled.

What if my export does not work?

Check the selected data set, required columns, dates, amounts, and account mapping. Try the other app’s CSV export if its spreadsheet or JSON layout is unsupported. Contact support with the file type, column names, and error message—not your financial file. Use made-up sample values if an example is needed.
